The project brief was to adapt and extend an existing house to meet the needs of a growing family along with the medium to long term needs of caring for a wheelchair bound family member with severe intellectual and physical disabilities. The project won the RIAI Universal Design Award 2014.
The project brief was to alter and extend an existing house with three bedrooms on a tight irregular site with a small garden to provide a new family room with renovated kitchen, dining rooms.
The brief was to change the focus of a client's home on to the garden and to maximise the enjoyment of the garden from the new kitchen and dining room. There was further emphasis on ensuring the north facing kitchen was bright and airy.
